We
have our first crias on the ground this
season and they are looking good!! Beautiful
colours as well as white - all healthy
and running around the paddocks. Very exciting
to see how they develop although we are
impressed already.

| Our
new stud male - Encantador Ring Master |
|
 |
We
have a new stud male to join our stable of
working males - Ring Master is sired by the
2003 National Supreme Champion - Blue Grass
Centurian, who is also a multiple Supreme
champion winner in animal AND fleece
classes.
Ring
Master's
dam and dam's family have produced show winners
that have held their micron throughout their
years - a testament that Ring Master's super-fine
fleece which displays pencil stapling with
a well defined high-amplitude crimp, will
keep his fineness. He is medium fawn - or
if you like, a honey colour. Ring Master
brings another range of fabulous genetics
to infuse into our herd including Jolimont
Warrior, Jolimont Conquistador, Purrumbete
Vanilla and Windsong Valley Royal Inca. |

| Congratulations
to new partners |
|
 |
We
would like to congratulate our new partners
- Coolaroo Alpaca Stud and Signature Alpacas
- for the purchase of shares in our champion
sire Regal House Mr. Darcy - proof obviously
IS in the progeny with both studs having
Darcy progeny on the ground and being so
impressed they wanted to be able to utilise
him more. I'm sure Darcy won't mind!

Shearing
is completed and just in time! Very hot weather
for the week after shearing and they have
had time to get used to being without "clothes"
to cope with the cool snap!
We are extremely happy with the fleeces that have
come off our herd this year with the younger progeny
exhibiting some fabulous fleeces with excellent
crimp style, density and fineness. We
offer raw fleece for sale - watch our products
for sale space - details coming shortly.

Alicia
has been extremely busy in 2009 and 2010
running steward courses around the countryside
on behalf of the AAA Ltd. She is in high
demand in all states with all regions having
very eager participants - so there should
be a lot more qualified stewards and convenors
out there now. |
|
|
|
 |
Darcy's
progeny have continued their success in the
show ring at the start of the show season
for 2010. Congratulations to our clients
for their success with their Darcy progeny. |

 |
| To
minimize the stress for our alpacas (and ourselves!)
we do not mate or have births throughout the
hot summer months where our temperatures can
easily reach 40°C and above. As alpacas do
not have a "season" as such and they
can be mated at any time of the year, this is
a husbandry decision for Regal House Alpacas
to ensure we have strong healthy crias with minimal
impact on their dams. |
